Angèle Whittaker started her practice in 2002 after graduating from The University of the Witwatersrand and gaining experience in a number of architectural practices.
The decision to maintain the practice as a small individual architectural practice has allowed Angèle to concentrate on delivering a personal service to her clients, being involved in all stages of the projects from conceptual design to on-site administration.
The practice concentrates on residential design and has worked in a variety of styles and scales, from alterations to heritage houses to new houses and small luxury multi-unit schemes. The designs are informed by timeless and well thought out proportions, materials and scale, as well as the practical resolution of the spaces. A high level of detailing is evident in all elements of the projects, including the joinery design.
Angèle has experience in heritage work, having completed additions and alterations to a number of heritage buildings and handles submissions to the heritage authorities, if required, on projects.
